Mass at Noon

Mission Santa Clara serves as the student chapel for SCU, and is not a parish.  Under the auspices of St. Clare Parish, located just across the street from the University, the Mission Church offers a year-round 10am mass on Sundays that welcomes a vibrant community of alumni, faculty, staff and friends from all throughout the Bay Area.  Please note, however, that as the Mission Church is not a parish, requests for pastoral services (i.e. baptisms, funerals, anointing of the sick, communion to the homebound, etc.) should be directed to St. Clare Parish at 408-248-7786.  Please visit  for more information about our local parish.

*Sunday Evening Masses and Reconciliation are sometimes suspended during University breaks (i.e. Spring Break) and certain holidays.  Check the Mass Schedule Updates often for changes to our regular mass and reconciliation schedule.

On Campus Post Office

The Campus Post Office is located in the lower level of the Benson Memorial Center. Regular business hours during the academic year are Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.

On-Site Childcare / Kids on Campus (KOC)

Kids on Campus is a self-funded, non-profit, parent participation pre-school and childcare center at Santa Clara University. Kids on Campus has been a part of the University since the fall of 1969 and serves children whose parent(s) are SCU faculty, staff, students, and alumni.
Admission to KOC is handled through a waiting list. All applicants must be registered on the waiting list. Notification of enrollment for each year (September through mid-June) begins in July of the prior academic year. (There is also a summer session from mid-June through August.)

On-Site Food Services

A variety of dining options exist for faculty and staff on campus including Adobe Lodge, Benson Cafeteria, Cadence Cyber Cafe in Lucas Hall, and the Sunstream Cafe in the library.

Santa Clara Mission Cemetery

Santa Clara Mission Cemetery, a Ministry of the Jesuit Community, is pleased to offer cemetery benefits for all current University of Santa Clara Faculty and Staff.

Located at 490 Lincoln Street (at the corner of Bellomy & Lincoln), the cemetery averages 800 dispositions per year offering ground burial, entombment, and inurnment options. In a highly competitive industry surrounded by death care conglomerates, Santa Clara Mission Cemetery remains a community resource committed to good governance of our rich history, caring for the departed, and providing support and assistance to those who have lost loved ones.

Staff Senate and Faculty Senate

The Staff Senate is the representative body for the staff assembly, which includes all Santa Clara University employees whose relationship to the university is primarily staff rather than faculty or student and who are not represented by a collective bargaining unit. The Faculty Senate is established in order to develop and express the opinion of the faculty on academic and professional matters, to make the collective experience and knowledge of the faculty available to the university president, and to facilitate the participation of the faculty in forming the policies of the university.

The Library advances the University's mission to educate engaged and accomplished citizens through our dynamic services and unique, extensive collections. Our community-focused staff are integral partners in creating and cultivating physical and virtual learning environments for open inquiry and academic excellence.

Tuition Exchange

The Tuition Exchange program is a national scholarship exchange program for institutions of higher education. Children of eligible employees may apply for undergraduate admission to one of the participating institutions and, if accepted, are eligible for tuition remission subject to the terms and conditions set by the accepting institution.

Tuition Reimbursement

The Tuition Reimbursement program provides eligible employees with Tuition Reimbursement for themselves or their dependents of up to $2,000.00 per year, with a lifetime benefit limit of $8,000.00 per employee, for tuition and educational fees.

Tuition Remission

The University grants education benefits to provide opportunities for personal and educational development for all benefit eligible employees taking Santa Clara University courses for credit. It also has several education benefit programs for spouses, registered domestic partners, and dependent children (as defined by the IRS) of eligible employees.

Employee Assistance Programs

EAP provides professional counseling, information, and referral services to faculty, staff and their families. The program offers confidential consultation on a wide variety of personal, family and/or work-related problems that may contribute to high levels of stress and interfere with health and work performance.
EAP is a great service designed to help with the following:

Employee Emergency Loan Program (EELP)

EELP loans are meant to provide assistance to employees who find themselves facing a financial emergency. The maximum amount of money that can be borrowed is $4,000.00. Repayment is made through semi-monthly payroll deductions authorized by the borrower. There is no interest charged on employee emergency loans. Repayment periods vary from one to three years, depending on the size of the loan.

Financial Planning with Joe Cowley (Free 1 Hour)

Joe Crowley is the university's financial counselor for benefits eligible faculty and staff. He offers 50 minute, confidential appointments to assist you in making wise financial decisions from buying a home or investing in the stock market to money market accounts and other investment options. Retirement Planning

Financial Consulting (Fidelity or TIAA)

Representatives from Fidelity Investments and TIAA provide one on one retirement counseling to benefit eligible employees. This is a confidential, half hour appointment that can be scheduled by directly contacting Fidelity Investments at 1-800-642-7131 or TIAA at (800) 842-2007, extension 1001. For TIAA, you can also sign up through their website click on Meeting/Counseling.

Voluntary Life Insurance

You can purchase life insurance for you and your dependents through the SCU group life plan. An employee may purchase coverage in increments of $10,000 to a maximum of $500,000. The employee’s family will get this additional benefit if you pass away. At the time of hire and/or during a qualifying life event, if a Voluntary Life Insurance- Employee amount of more than $300,000  is chosen, you will need to have an Evidence of Insurability (EOI) form approved by Sun Life. All other employees are required to provide EOI regardless of the coverage amount. An employee may purchase coverage for their spouse in the amount of 50% of the Employee’s benefit to up to $100,000. An employee may also purchase coverage for children in increments of $2,000 up to $10,000, through the age of 26. If chosen benefits exceed a certain amount, an Evidence of Insurability form must be approved by Sun Life for benefits to be received in full. One-on-One Nutrition Counseling

A healthy diet requires planning and an effort to include a variety of foods. The Mission to Wellness office will help with this by offering nutritional counseling, workshops and cooking classes to help you achieve your goals.

San Francisco Giants Season Tickets Program

In order to support Santa Clara University staff and faculty employees in spending quality time with family and friends, the HR Mission to Wellness program has obtained 8 season tickets for the San Francisco Giants. We are able to make these tickets available at a substantial price saving. Tickets may be purchased in groups of 2 or 4 and will be limited to allow as many employees the chance to see a ballgame. These tickets must be used by benefit eligible employees and their guests and are not to be resold.
