Middle Eastern & North African (MENA) Alumni Community

Identity-based communities connect Broncos based on their shared cultural, racial, or personal identities. These communities provide alumni of diverse backgrounds a comfortable environment for networking and socializing, as well as opportunities to honor shared heritage and experiences. All who identify with or support these communities are welcome to join!

Welcome Home, Broncos!

Salam and welcome to the Middle Eastern & North African (MENA) Alumni Community! We hope this will be a space for both members of and allies to the MENA community to come together and celebrate the MENA region, cultures, and people. We look forward to hosting fun and educational events for you all. Whether you are a recent alumnus or a seasoned veteran in the adult world, we are eager to have you as part of this family!

  • Parwana Khazi '20

    Co-President

Parwana Khazi '20 graduated from Santa Clara University with bachelor's degrees in Biology, Public Health, and Spanish Studies. During her undergraduate years, she was involved with SCU EMS, Student Ambassadors, Global Medical Brigades, Residence Life, the Wellness Center, the Markkula Hackworth Fellowship, research, and, of course, MENA. A Bay Area native, Parwana grew up in an Iranian and Afghan community that helped her develop a deep love and appreciation for the MENA region, cultures, and people. She is incredibly grateful for her time with SCU MENA and is excited to continue serving the MENA community as a SCU alumnus.

  • Sened Haddad ’20

    Co-President

Sened Haddad ’20 graduated from Santa Clara University with a bachelor's degree in Computer Science and a minor in Mathematics. During his time on campus, he was involved in the creation of MENA as well as the LEAD Scholars Program, Career Center, and Engineers Without Borders. Originally from San Francisco, Sened’s Jordanian background emphasized the importance of family and community growing up. Luckily, he found that sense of family in the MENA community at Santa Clara University, motivating him to continue to build and expand this amazing family with all MENA alumni.
