COVID-19 Protocols

Currently, Club Sport programs are authorized to compete during Winter 2022 and must comply with the University's SCU Prepared mandates. Practices and games may be held as long as in compliance with room capacity limits and face coverings where required.

EVENT PROTOCOL - OUTDOORS

All Club Sport events at Santa Clara University operate in compliance with state, county, and university COVID-19 guidelines. In response to evolving changes brought about by COVID-19, Santa Clara University Club Sports has the following policies for our events at Bellomy Field: SCU requires visiting team players, coaches, and team staff to provide pre-attendance proof of vaccination verification OR proof of a negative antigen test within 24 hours of the event OR PCR lab-based test within 72 hours of the event. Individuals under the age of 12 are exempt from providing proof of vaccination and testing. While masks are currently not required for outdoor events on campus, the institution highly encourages fans to wear masks especially when social distancing guidelines cannot be met or when others around you are eating or drinking. Seating in Bellomy Field is general admission, and everyone is encouraged to utilize appropriate social distancing in the stands and common areas. The link to Bellomy Field specific guidelines can be found here. Updates will be provided should there be an adjustment in protocol.

EVENT PROTOCOL - INDOORS

In response to evolving changes brought about by COVID-19, Santa Clara University Club Sports has the following policies for our events at the Malley Center: SCU requires visiting team players, coaches, team staff, and spectators to provide pre-attendance proof of vaccination verification OR proof of a negative antigen test within 24 hours of the event OR PCR lab-based test within 72 hours of the event. Individuals under the age of 12 are exempt from providing proof of vaccination and testing. In addition, masks are required at all times when indoors. The exemption to this policy is only for the limited players actively on the court competing. Coaches and those sitting on the bench are required to wear masks. Click here for detailed instructions.

For all events we do ask if someone tests positive for COVID-19 within 48-hours of attending, to report this to the University by emailing covid19@scu.edu.

Participation Waivers

University-affiliated Club Sport Teams are not required to complete participation waivers. However, all Alumni who participate in Alumni game competitions must complete the Malley Facility Use Waiver. Club Sport Teams are required to submit the completed waiver post event.

Athletic Training Services

Athletic Training Services are not required for SCU Club Sport home game competitions. Should the individual sport National Governing Body require Athletic Training Services to be available, the team will secure the Athletic Trainer to be on site during their home game competition. Athletic Trainers scheduled to work will be on site one hour prior to the start of the event. The Athletic Trainer may or may not have first aid supplies available. It is recommended that all visiting teams bring their own medical supplies for taping if necessary. For those events that do not require an Athletic Trainer to be present, each SCU Club Sport team has two team member Safety Officers and all Coach(es) and Volunteer(s) Staff certified in Adult CPR/AED/First Aid to provide emergency care.
